Foundry Chambers is one of the UK’s leading criminal sets. Our members prosecute and defend allegations of crime at every level, in the magistrates’ court, the Crown Court, the Court Martial, the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.

For individuals and businesses accused of criminal offences, we offer advice and representation from the early stages of the investigation through to appeal. Our members are often instructed in serious and complex cases. We also regularly act in cases where there is a risk of reputational or economic damage, such as where a conviction for a relatively minor offence may lead to the loss of a job or a licence. Many members of chambers are able to act on a direct access basis in appropriate cases.

For public prosecutors, we offer advice and advocacy from the pre-charge stage onwards. We have members qualified at all levels of the Crown Prosecution Service Advocate Panel, as specialist rape prosecutors, and on the Serious Fraud Office counsel lists. We act for a number of London boroughs and other local authorities in prosecutions for regulatory offences. We have a long history of work in cases of evasion of tax or duty. Our strength in asset recovery and confiscation work complements our prosecution expertise.

We also have extensive experience of private prosecution work, having been regularly instructed by the UK’s largest non-governmental prosecutor for over 20 years. Members of chambers are well placed to advise businesses or individuals considering bringing private prosecutions.
